What does 1 Samuel 21:1–22:5 reveal about what God the Son does in my place and on my behalf?
Jesus Christ is the King who remained faithful to God in all circumstances. Where we are faithless and often abandon God’s commandments when obedience becomes costly, he obeyed to the end. Through his perfect obedience, he merited eternal life in God’s presence. Being a sinless man, he was also able to bear the punishment we deserve for our failures, which is what he did when he died on the cross.
