1 Kings 11:27–28 informs us that Jeroboam became a servant of Solomon because of his skill in organizing those who laboured in building projects, particularly the project that closed up the breaches in the wall of the city of David
in Jerusalem. Jeroboam was promoted to have authority over all the forced labour. There the story might have ended, and Jeroboam‘s name might have been lost in relative obscurity had not the Lord, through one of his prophets, intervened.
27 Voici à quelle occasion il leva la main contre le roi. Salomon bâtissait Millo, et fermait la brèche de la cité de David, son père.
