Habakkuk’s prophecy came in a time where the people of Judah were unwilling to believe any message about a coming Babylonian invasion. They did not think that the Lord would use the Babylonians as an instrument of his judgment. As a result, they ignored his warning and treated it with contempt.1 They responded with unbelief to the revelation they received through the prophet.
