Since Jews were familiar with the Old Testament and waiting for the coming of the Messiah, it makes a lot of sense for Christian believers to focus on proclaiming the good news about Jesus to them as a first priority. This focus accords with the instructions of Jesus (see Matthew 10:1–8).
