Jesus’ instructions to Ananias make it clear that Saul has had a vision during the time that he has been praying and fasting. This information is shared with Ananias so that he knows that Saul is expecting him and will receive him without any danger to Ananias.1 A double vision serves to confirm that an event is fixed by God (see Genesis 41:32).2
