1. Jérémie 12:4 (NEG79)
  2. Explication du texte

Why do the wicked say, “He will not see our latter end”?

In their arrogance the wicked say, He will not see our latter end. The Hebrew in this last sentence is difficult to translate, but the general meaning seems clear; the wicked do not believe that the Lord sees what they do or even cares. They do not believe he will act against them. But they are mistaken. They have not listened to the warning of Deuteronomy 32:20, I will hide my face from them; I will see what their end will be, for they are a perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.1
