Judah’s sin and rebellion runs too deep. No amount of refining is going to lead to faithfulness so the inevitable consequence is that they must face the Lord’s judgment.

is goy, and is a term used to describe all non-Jewish nations. The implication here is that Judah has lost her special place as the Lord’s chosen people.1
