Hospitality requirement for offices

1 Timothée 3:2 (NEG79)

2 Il faut donc que l'évêque soit irréprochable, mari d'une seule femme, sobre, modéré, réglé dans sa conduite, hospitalier, propre à l'enseignement.

There is another Scripture that we can look at in 1 Timothy 3:1–16. 1 Timothy 3:1–16 lists hospitality among the requirements for those that serve as elders in the church. 1 Timothy 3:2: Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable… So it is something that is connected to those that desire to serve as elders in the church. But we see also that in 1 Timothy 3:8 Paul says, Deacons likewise must be dignified… He connects what the deacons do to what the elders do. He says, Elders do these things; deacons likewise. Hospitality is part of the work of the offices of the church.1
