In Jeremiah’s vision the enemy now speaks and there is a call to prepare war against her.
The shepherds
of Jeremiah 6:3 are now commanders calling their troops to action. The Hebrew word for prepare
is qaddesu and may suggest the religious rituals that often preceded battle. This would lay stress on the serious purpose of the invaders and therefore of Yahweh
