The pigs, having tasted the pearls and discovered that they cannot be eaten, turn on those who gave the pearls to them.1 Whether or not this describes the behaviour of wild pigs, the assumption of Jesus is clear. Unbelievers who are adamantly opposed to the gospel will consume brothers that are thrown out of the church. They will encourage those brothers to leave Christ and his church.2
