In Jesus’ metaphor, the body receives light from the eye. If the eye is focused on that which is good, the whole body will benefit. In other words, when kingdom citizens set their focus on pleasing God,1 the result will be for their good (and presumably also the good of those around them, as a result of a generous spirit).2
