In some ways, Leviticus 26:1–46 serves as a climax for the entire book. Conversely, Leviticus 27:1–34 has often been seen as a separate, self-contained unit. This clear demarcation, however, should not create the sense that these chapters are disconnected from one another. As Leviticus 26:1–46 highlights the blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience, Leviticus 27:1–34 guards the nation from making rash or foolish vows.
