Here is an instance where the son of an Israelite woman and Egyptian father fought against a full Israelite. During the fight, the son blasphemed (nqb) and cursed (qll) the name of God. The Hebrew term for name
is sometimes used in the place of the holy name of Yahweh (see Deuteronomy 28:58). Misuse of God's name is condemned in the third commandment (Exodus 20:7). With this in mind, it is still not completely clear what the man did exactly.
