The connection of Leviticus 22 to what comes before

Leviticus 21:1–24 and Leviticus 22:1–33 form a literary unit. These two chapters are given directly to the priests. The priests were called to exemplify the holiness of God in their lives. In doing so, they had to safeguard holiness within the service, which meant offering sacrifices that were acceptable to God.
