Leviticus 21:18 mentions four physical defects. These include a man who is blind (‛iwwēr), lame (pissēªḥ), has a mutilated (ḥārǔm) face, or has abnormally long (śārûª) limbs. The word mutilated
is derived from the verb that means, to divide.
It may refer to someone who has been severely cut.
