How were the Hebrews to maintain holiness?

Lévitique 20:8 (NEG79)

8 Vous observerez mes lois, et vous les mettrez en pratique. Je suis l'Eternel, qui vous sanctifie.

The Israelites were to pursue holiness by keeping God’s Word and his law as revealed in the Torah. Secondly, they were to remember that holiness is not something that they could manufacture themselves. It was God who made them holy.
