What should be done with the blood once the animal has been killed?

14Car la vie de toute chair, c'est son sang, qui est en elle. C'est pourquoi j'ai dit aux enfants d'Israël: Vous ne mangerez le sang d'aucune chair; car la vie de toute chair, c'est son sang: quiconque en mangera sera retranché.
Rather than eating or drinking the blood, the hunter is to drain it off. It is to be poured out on the ground like water (Deuteronomy 12:15–16). Then it is to be covered with dirt.
