Solomon returns in his prayer to a theme that he touched on in his address to the people just completed. This is the faithfulness of the Lord in keeping the promise that David’s son would build the temple. There is one important thing to emphasize. Even though Solomon and the workmen that he employed were humanly responsible for the completion of the temple building, Solomon ascribes the ultimate responsibility to the activity of the Lord. He even says that it is the Lord’s hands
that has accomplished this. This ought to remind the Christian of Paul’s words in Ephesians 2:10, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
24 Ainsi tu as tenu parole à ton serviteur David, mon père; et ce que tu as déclaré de ta bouche, tu l'accomplis en ce jour par ta puissance.
