Again, the author turns to God. Let his Creator lead him if needed – and o, how much do we people need these course-corrections! That God may correct and lead us on the way which has a future (compare Psalm 1:6, Psalm 16:11, Psalm 27:11, Proverbs 12:28).
In Matthew 7:13–14 Jesus also uses the imagery of the two ways of life which man can traverse.
What becomes clear is that the correct way is often much smaller and less easy than the wide path. This should especially spur us on to trust God in everything we do and rely on his good directions. Only with this mighty God, of which this entire psalm eloquently witnesses, are we safe for time and eternity.
