Peace is not only the absence of conflict, but also wholeness and prosperity, a state of normality consistent with God’s will (1 Corinthians 14:33).1 Christ makes peace possible between man and God, Jew and Gentile (Ephesians 2:14, Ephesians 2:15, Ephesians 2:17), and it should be eagerly sought in the Christian community.2
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
