1. Cantique des Cantiques 6:7 (NEG79)
  2. Explication du texte

Why are the woman's cheeks like halves of a pomegranate behind her veil?

Cantique des Cantiques 6:7 (NEG79)

7 Ta joue est comme une moitié de grenade, Derrière ton voile…

This is yet another repeated metaphor (Song of Solomon 4:3) that draws attention to the attractiveness of her complexion.

Since the veil was connected with the marriage ceremony (Song of Solomon 4:1), by repeating it here he is saying that she is still as lovely as the day on which he married her.1
