The sending of the Son refers to the moment in time when the Son left his heavenly abode in the presence of the Father to enter the world of sinful men and take on flesh. The pre-existence of the Son as a separate person from the Father is assumed (John 1:1; John 8:58; John 17:5; Romans 8:3; 2 Corinthians 8:9; Philippians 2:6; Colossians 1:15; Hebrews 1:3)1 and his appearance brings the fullness of time. It marks the end of the age of the law and sin (Galatians 1:4) and ushers in the future age.2
