He who is righteous by faith is the one that will live.1 Since human beings are unable to render the perfect obedience that God requires for life in his presence, the one who will live is the one who has the perfect righteousness of Christ imputed to him. Justified in the sight of God, this person then proceeds to live by faith. He knows God’s peace (Philippians 4:7), the security of forgiveness (Romans 5:1), fellowship with God (John 17:3), joy (1 Peter 1:8), transformation (2 Corinthians 3:18), and is increasingly eager to serve others (1 Thessalonians 3:8).2
