What did Peter indicate by drawing back and separating himself when the men from James came to visit?
When the believers from James (or Jerusalem) came to visit the believers in Antioch, Peter stopped eating with the Gentile believers, at both the common table and the Lord’s table.1 It is not clear if he did so immediately or gradually over time.2 In either case, his actions would serve to indicate that there was something lacking in the Gentile believers.3
