Ecclesiastes speaks about a time to tear and to mend. This tearing may also indicate a time of mourning when the Israelites tore their clothes. Other times it is necessary to repair what is broken. Sometimes it is wise not to respond to certain comments, while at other times it is necessary to speak in order to present the truth clearly.
