The young woman now includes in her poem her beloved’s words (Song of Solomon 2:10–14). Instead of coming inside to her, he is calling his love,
his beautiful one,
to come outside and to go away with him to a place where they can be together. The implication being that the stage their relationship is in has frustrating barriers to intimacy.
