The literal translation of this Hebrew phrase beth hayyayin is “house of wine.”1 It is a place where people enjoy wine. Wine has already been used in the Song to describe lovemaking (Song of Solomon 1:2). When she says her beloved brought her to a “house of wine” or banqueting hall she is probably anticipating him bringing her to a place where their lovemaking is enjoyed.2
4 Il m'a fait entrer dans la maison du vin; Et la bannière qu'il déploie sur moi, c'est l'amour.
