The previous paragraphs contained three scenes describing how the triumphant Christ had demolished his enemies (Revelation 19:20 regarding the beast and the false prophet; Revelation 20:10 regarding Satan; Revelation 20:14–15 regarding Death and Hades as well as the reprobate). With their removal from the earth, the way is open for the Lord to reveal his plan for his redeemed people upon the earth, that is, those people whose names were written in the book of life (Revelation 20:12, Revelation 20:15).
