Isaiah 23:9 is structured in the same way as Isaiah 23:8 and provides a direct answer to the question asked. It is the Lord of hosts who changed Tyre’s pride to dishonour. The Lord destroys every form of human pride. In his time, he acts and destroys all that stands in the way of his purpose.
