Why did David offer to go and fight against Goliath?

32David dit à Saül: Que personne ne se décourage à cause de ce Philistin! Ton serviteur ira se battre avec lui.
David was confident that the Lord would help him to use his weapons and skills effectively against Goliath in such a way that he would be defeated (see Psalm 18:29–45).1 He was confident of the Lord’s help in the fight, and he was not cowered by the strength of the enemy (see also Joshua 14:12).2
