How does Leviticus 15 relate to the New Testament?

In the synoptic gospels (Matthew 9:20; Mark 5:25; Luke 8:43), Jesus healed a woman who had a discharge of blood for twelve years. As a result, she would have been barred from the temple. Even after she had visited many doctors and spent all of her money, she was not cured. It was not by her power or the power of men that she experienced healing; it was only through the power of Christ that she was restored. Moreover, because Christ was the Holy One of Israel, he did not become defiled through contact with her. Rather, Jesus was the One who made others whole. In Jesus, God draws near to those who have been separated by sin.
