What is significant about what the people sought at the House of the Forest and what they actually found?

Ésaïe 22:8–9 (NEG79)

8 Les derniers retranchements de Juda sont forcés, Et en ce jour tu visites les armures de la maison de la forêt.

The people were looking for weapons for their defence, instead of looking to the Lord for their salvation. Instead of weapons, they found signs of neglect: breaches in the walls of Jerusalem. This is in stark contrast to the prayer in Psalm 51:18: “Do good to Zion in your good pleasure; build up the walls of Jerusalem.”
