  2. Explication du texte

Why does Christ still appoint Judas Iscariot as a disciple when he knows that he would betray him?

Matthieu 10:2–4 (NEG79)

2 Voici les noms des douze apôtres.Le premier, Simon appelé Pierre, et André, son frère; Jacques, fils de Zébédée, et Jean, son frère;

Christ knew from the beginning who it was that would betray him. Yet he tolerated Judas Iscariot in his presence. Judas, too, is allowed to know Christ’s love and majesty. The problem is never that God does not want to reveal the Saviour to the world. Judas made an active choice again Christ, while knowing who he was.
