What does 1 Samuel 14:24–46 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)?
Jesus Christ is the One who always spoke what is true and acted in the best interests of God’s people. He perfectly obeyed God’s law. As a result of his obedience, he was also able to pay for the sins of God’s people—the truly innocent One suffering in the place of the wicked. Thus, the penalty that I deserve for my sin fell upon him so that I can be forgiven, and can look forward to an inheritance in the new creation.
