What does 1 Samuel 14:1–23 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)?
Jesus of Nazareth was the Christ, the one man through whom God worked to bring eternal life to all God’s people. His one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all those who belong to God (Romans 5:18–21). Though the work of Jesus seems to be foolish in the sight of men, it is God’s plan for his glory and my good. Jesus bravely submitted to the will of the Father even when it meant suffering and death.
