At times we are inclined to think that something is better than nothing, also with respect to the service of the Lord. But this pericope shows that the Lord is not pleased with half-measures, or with less than full obedience. In like manner, church leaders should not tolerate half-hearted service, or accept anything less than full obedience to the Lord’s commands.
