Malachi has used the same root word for “delight” in Malachi 1:10, Malachi 2:17, Malachi 3:1, and in this verse. The word “delight” indicates something that gives great pleasure, something to be desired. In this verse, the Lord promises to reverse the condition of Israel, so that living in Israel would give great pleasure to its inhabitants, and being a citizen of this nation would be deemed as very desirable by citizens of neighbouring nations.
12 Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the LORD of hosts.
