Earthly wealth is fleeting. The glory of the rich person will not go with him into the grave and the realm of Sheol (see earlier notes about the graves of those who died, the Germanic and Egyptian graves). 1 Timothy 6 warns against lust for wealth, in 1 Timothy 6:6–7: “But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world.”
