After the glimmer of hope seen in Isaiah 16:1–5, Isaiah speaks yet again of the grim reality of the judgment to come over Moab. As in Isaiah 15:1–9, the main theme is the destruction of Moab. Here, however, Isaiah also uses some harsher words. He sharply criticizes their pride.
