1. Ésaïe 16:6 (NEG79)
  2. Explication du texte

How does this second lament (Isaiah 16:6–12) differ from the first part in Isaiah 15?

Ésaïe 16:6 (NEG79)

6 Nous entendons l'orgueil du superbe Moab, Sa fierté et sa hauteur, son arrogance et ses vains discours.

After the glimmer of hope seen in Isaiah 16:1–5, Isaiah speaks yet again of the grim reality of the judgment to come over Moab. As in Isaiah 15:1–9, the main theme is the destruction of Moab. Here, however, Isaiah also uses some harsher words. He sharply criticizes their pride.
