  2. Explication du texte

What is the difference between David’s rule and that of the throne of Moab?

This message is directed at both Moab and Israel. The expectation of a ruler who will reign in righteousness and love is based on the promise to David that his descendants would rule in Zion (2 Samuel 7:11–16). The throne of David is different from the thrones of the world, which are founded by might and power. David’s throne is established by the grace of God, and all the kings who ruled there were merely the forerunners to the rule of the coming Messiah.
