1. Ésaïe 15:5 (NEG79)
  2. Explication du texte

What can we learn about Isaiah in Isaiah 15:5?

Ésaïe 15:5 (NEG79)

5 Mon cœur gémit sur Moab, Dont les fugitifs se sauvent jusqu'à Tsoar, Jusqu'à Eglath-Schelischija; Car ils font, en pleurant, la montée de Luchith, Et ils jettent des cris de détresse sur le chemin de Choronaïm;

Isaiah was a true evangelist; he had compassion for the people of Moab, even whilst delivering the message of their destruction.

We can give voice to God’s wrath without losing our empathy (see Isaiah 22:4 and Jeremiah 9:1). What is significant here, however, is that this prophecy is aimed at a heathen nation.
