Commentary on 2 Kings 25:29 (Summary)

2 Rois 25:29 (NEG79)

29 Il lui fit changer ses vêtements de prison, et Jojakin mangea toujours à sa table tout le temps de sa vie.

It is also telling that Jehoiachin could exchange his prison clothes, which identified him as a prisoner, for a different outfit, and looking at what follows—Jehoiachin was admitted to the king’s court—he will have worn clothes suitable for use in the palace. It literally says that Jehoiachin continually ate bread before his (i.e., the king’s) face. At the king’s table one wore suitable clothes.
