Jacques 1:21 (NEG79)

21 C'est pourquoi, rejetant toute souillure et tout débordement de méchanceté, recevez avec douceur la parole qui a été plantée en vous, et qui peut sauver vos âmes.

We, as Christians, do not live in protective cocoons. We live in a world where evil threatens us. I like what Doug Moose says, like an army with many soldiers, sin attacks us persistently and in many guises. Knock down one sin and another quickly rises to take its place in the spiritual conflict in which we are engaged. We are in a battle; it is a spiritual battle and we need to be vigilant. We need to keep receiving meekly, humbly, the implanted Word to conquer sin. We need the power of the Holy Spirit every day, because sin is crouching like a lion and it is attacking.1
