Psalm 78
Psalm 78 testifies to the history of Israel. Psalm 78:51–55 testify to the Lord’s redemptive work in bringing his people into the land of Canaan and driving out the nations before them. This might be a good section to sing immediately before your Bible reading. Psalm 78:56–64 testifies to the destruction of Shiloh that presumably followed the events recorded in 1 Samuel 4. This might be a good song to sing after your sermon, or possibly before you preach from 1 Samuel 5.
