The connection of Revelation 19:11–21 to previous chapters

Apocalypse 19:11–21 (NEG79)

11 Puis je vis le ciel ouvert, et voici, parut un cheval blanc. Celui qui le montait s'appelle Fidèle et Véritable, et il juge et combat avec justice.

The previous section had left the reader delightfully reassured that Babylon (that is, human effort to develop a paradise on earth without God) had utterly failed (Revelation 17:1 – 19:2). The Lord’s victory over Babylon left the way open for revelation concerning the marriage feast of the Lamb, Revelation 19:1–10. But the attentive reader will wonder what the Lord intends to do with the beasts of Revelation 13:1–18 and the dragon of Revelation 12:1–17. Will he permit them to continue their hellish efforts on this earth? With Revelation 19:11–21 Jesus Christ shows John what he does with the two beasts of Revelation 13:1–18.
