What does 1 Samuel 4 reveal about who God the Father is?
God is faithful to his Word. He promised judgment to Eli and his sons and delivers that judgment with their deaths. He also promised Israel that he would not help them in battle where there is covenant disobedience and so he brings defeat upon them.
God cannot be manipulated. Even though Israel think they can control God by bringing his ark into battle, they cannot.
God is holy. He removes special presence from Israel on account of their sin.
