In this verse, Paul lays a special foundation under the appeals of the preceding verses. The mind to which he calls the Philippians is yours in Christ Jesus. In other places in the New Testament, it is also said that the believers must follow Jesus (Matthew 11:29; John 13:12–17; John 13:34; John 21:19; 1 Corinthians 11:1; 1 Thessalonians 1:6; 1 Peter 2:21–23; 1 John 2:6).
