Whatever our circumstances are, we can rely on God. We are allowed to pour out our hearts to him—also, our why questions (Psalm 22:1–31). Thanks to Jesus, we can pray with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). He was forsaken by God on the cross, so that we will never be forsaken. As God promised Joshua, Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go
(Joshua 1:9).
