Eli’s house despised the sacrifice and offerings of the Lord. As a result, the sacrifice and offerings will have no efficacy on their behalf. That is to say, the Lord’s decision to judge the house of Eli cannot be stopped or changed by bringing sacrifices and offerings (see Numbers 15:30–31; Hebrews 10:26–27).1
