22Je me lèverai contre eux, Dit l'Eternel des armées; Je supprimerai le nom et la trace de Babylone, Ses descendants et sa postérité, dit l'Eternel.
Babylon will never rise again, but the true God will. He will leave no remnant, in contrast to the Israelites, of whom there would always be a remnant. The phrase declares the Lord emphasizes that the Lord’s word is irrevocable.
